Out with the old, in with the new!

Happy 2nd day of the New Year! How is it going? Any resolutions made? Any resolution already broken? :) I made a couple of them, one is to walk or run every day outside, rain, snow, or hail as I have realized that the fresh air outside is so refreshing and energetic than working out on the treadmill inside the house. I feel like I am reborn when I breathe in the crisp winter air. The only issue is that it gets dark so fast! So I have decided that lunchtime during school days would be the best time for me.

The other resolution I have made is to get back to meditation. My mom taught me a simple way of meditating- you repeat a mantra/word like love, light, or happiness,etc. or a simple but profound sentence like - I am at peace or I am the light and I am surrounded by light and to repeat this with my eyes closed for 20 minutes a day. I used to meditate every day and it really helped me but I slowly drifted off for the past few months.

I am so glad I am back on track with both of them. Even though it is only the second day I committed to keeping these resolutions going for this year and beyond.
